The Indians have clinched at least the second seed and a first-round bye after last week’s victories finishing with Marsh Valley in Arimo on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Preston’s Tyler Ward, 5, controls the ball and moves it downfield against Marsh Valley last Saturday. The Indians beat the Eagles 1-0. District tournaments start on Saturday.
Preston rested most of its varsity roster against the Eagles. Since many teams they play have no junior varsity, Coach Robert Bowles felt it would be a good opportunity for the JV team.
Ethan White earned the shutout and the Indians’ only score came when Tyler Ward played a long through ball to Jackson Hobbs, who beat Marsh Valley’s goalkeeper one-on-one.
Despite the 1-0 score, Preston did not really give Marsh Valley many opportunities, especially anything that White could not easily manage.
