Each year, Kris Beckstead, chairman of That Famous Preston Night Rodeo committee, leads the effort aimed at enticing cowboys and cowgirls to come to Preston’s biggest summer event.
This year it paid off.
That Famous Night Rodeo was voted Rodeo of the Year in the small to middle sized rodeos in the Wilderness Circuit. The honor was announced at the Wilderness Circuit Finals held in Heber City, Utah, the last weekend of October 2013.
That is the top of 45 rodeos in Idaho, Utah and Nevada.
“This is a great honor for our rodeo and it is voted on by the cowboys and members of the Wilderness Circuit.
That Famous Preston Night Rodeo arena has been given top honors for the arena by barrel racers in the Wildness Circuit for the past few years.
The Preston rodeo is known for the caliber and quality of both the stock and cowboys who compete. World Champion cowboys in and out of this circuit travel to Preston to compete.
Just last year, many of the top 20 cowboys in the world came to Preston’s rodeo. Now many of those cowboys are headed to the finals in Las Vegas, Nev.
