DAYTON –The West Side boys’ track team is starting the season strong this spring.

Coach Tyson Moser said last week the team went to a meet in Malad with nine schools.

“The meet was not scored but the boys won 15 out of 18 events,” he said. “This past weekend we ran at USU at the Cache-Box Invitational. This is a meet with all the schools in Cache Valley and Box Elder County.”

Moser said the Pirates competed against all 4A and 3A schools in Utah, much larger than West Side.

“We did surprisingly well. The boys won three out of four relays. We placed in the top six in most events and we took fourth as a team, beating Bear River and Mountain Crest.”
