The colder than normal temps and soaring heating bills may have some in the county looking for ways to trim costs. Kandi Avery, Franklin County coordinator for Southeast Idaho Community Action Agency (SEICAA), is prepared to help. She said they are still taking appointments for families who want to apply for heat assistance in the form of a one-time benefit paid directly to their heat supplier.
“People who are interested should contact SEICAA for an appointment and income guidelines. Appointments are first-come first-served. Households are qualified based on monthly gross income and family size,” Avery said. “Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2013, for the current Energy Assistance year. All funding is subject to availability and all applicants must reapply every year.”
