A winter parking ordinance is now in effect within the Preston City limits and officials are reminding residents that parking any type of vehicle on city streets during winter months is prohibited because it impairs snow removal efforts.
Beginning Saturday, Nov. 1, and running through March 31, parking vehicles, RVs or trailers on any city street in Preston is prohibited from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Snowplow drivers need to have the roads clear during those hours to facilitate snow removal. In order to avoid getting a ticket, residents and visitors of the community need to remove their vehicles/ trailers from city streets at night, said officials.
