It was Senior Night for Preston wrestling on Jan. 22 and the final home wrestling meet of the 2012-13 season.
Cameron Dietrich, Devin Porter and Erick Silva were honored for their team leadership before action began against the Soda Springs and Grace teams.
Justin Longhurst claimed the first pin of the night, followed in quick succession by Jonny Ortiz and Cole Nash, who also pinned their opponents. Erick Silva and Kaden Cole also won their matches by fall. Josh Greene handily won by points, 22-6. Seth Gregory, Kieton Keller, Gio Silva and Tayson Reid also collected forfeit points for Preston, which contributed to a score of 71-24 against Soda.

Preston’s Erick Silva fights for position during Senior Night prior to pinning his Soda Springs opponent.
Preston didn’t fare as well against the more-experienced Grace Grizzlies, with the only wins by the Indians coming as pins from Keller, Porter and Cole. Time ran close for Silva, still scrambling in the final seconds in a nail biter which ended with a 5-4 score. Nash, Silva, and Reid picked up forfeit points, leading to a win by Grace 51-42.
