The West Side girls lost by 12 points to the Dragons on Tuesday night in the first round of a double-elimination basketball tournament in Malad. The final score was 50-38.
The Pirates kept it close until the fourth quarter when Malad outscored them 15-5. Casey Rich led West Side with 17.
The Pirates play the Aberdeen Tigers in Dayton on Thursday at 7 p.m. in a loser-out game.
