Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an early-morning, one-vehicle rollover Thursday on U.S. 91 north of Franklin that seriously injured an American Falls Harper Baking employee.
Deputy Travis Despain said the driver, Earnest L. Bernal, was southbound and apparently swerved to avoid hitting deer in the roadway. His 2005 GMC food-service truck, full of bread, crossed all lanes of traffic, struck a guardrail and came to rest upside down, according to a traffic report.
Bernal was taken to the Franklin County Medical Center and later flown by Life Flight to a Salt Lake City-area hospital for treatment of “severe” injuries to his left arm, the report states.
The investigation is continuing, Despain said.
