DAYTON – West Side boys played a home game against the Soda Spring Cardinals on Saturday and the Pirates suffered a four-point district loss.
Soda Springs’ Derek Spain made a game changing three-pointer in the third quarter. Head Coach Tyler Brown stated, “we finally got a two-point lead. Then we stole the ball and let Spain steal it back. He scored a three to put them up by one again.”
After that the Pirates didn’t regain the lead for the rest of the night. Spain scored a total of 11 points for the Cardinals; Tate Fuller led West Side in points, scoring 12. Jaxon Smart scored 10 for the Pirates.
The final score was 49 to 45 with Soda taking home the win.
The Pirates will play district rival Malad this Wednesday at Malad.
