Preston wrestlers took on district rival Blackfoot on Wednesday, Jan. 9, and gave the Broncos a run for their money in Blackfoot’s home gym.
Wrestling action began in the middle weights, but it was Tayson Reid who scored the first team points for Preston by pinning his opponent in the 285-pound. weight class.
Seth Gregory, Kieton Keller and Justin Longhurst also racked up pins against their competition.
Cameron Dietrich battled long-time rival Bingham from Blackfoot yet again. And for the second time this season emerged as winner with a hard-fought 3-1 match score.
Devin Porter almost won by technical fall against his Blackfoot opponent, Schoonover, with a final score of 16-3.
The Tribe ended up with a team score of 31 points to Blackfoot’s 51.
Entering the last third of their season, the Indians will next travel to match up against Highland and Century.
On Friday and Saturday, Preston competes in the large Tiger-Grizz tournament in Idaho Falls.
