The Lady Indians traveled to Burley on Saturday where they lost to the Bobcats 52-29.
“We played much better than Thursday’s game against Pocatello and better than our first meeting with Burley at the beginning of the year,” said coach Belinda Taylor.
“Offensively we stayed in a flow and had good looks at the basket. We played a great defensive game, holding Burley to only 20 in the first half.
Their shooter, Baker, got hot in the second half and ended with a game high 23 points.”
Shania Carlisle had six boards, three steals, and four deflections. Anna-Marie White led the Indians scoring with seven and Alexa VanVleet followed with six.”
Preston played host to district opponent Pocatello on Jan. 3, in which they were defeated 51-19.
Taylor felt they struggled offensively and praised White’s effort in the second half where she took six of the team’s 12 shots.
The Indians host Bonneville tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. JV and freshmen begin at 6 p.m. They will host Bear Lake on Friday, also at 7:30 p.m. The JV and freshmen also begin at 6:30 p.m. that night.
