DAYTON – The West Side girls lost a seven-point, non-district game against the visiting Grace Grizzlies on Friday, Dec. 28, in Dayton, despite outscoring their opponent by seven in the last quarter.
Grace sunk the Pirates 50-43. First-year West Side coach Kelli Hobson praised her young team for the way it fought back, especially in the fourth quarter.
“We played well. It’s tough to play over the holidays because you have a crazy practice schedule. Overall I’m very pleased with how we are playing right now. We have two tough games next week against Soda and Malad. We have been working towards district play all year. I hope we can peak at the right time,” she said.
