Jeremy Kimpton, 36, the new Franklin administrator, has been involved in Franklin City politics for seven years, six on the city council and one year as mayor.
For a salary of $40,000, the city administrator takes care of and oversees all the day-to-day operations of the city, like water and sewer. As city manager Kimpton can be found driving a snowplow early in the morning to testing the city’s water supply on weekends.

With two subdivisions and the commercial development of the horse complex, Kimpton said having a full-time city manager watching over things is the smart way to go.
The city administrator’s salary came from moving some money around and having a full time employee leave. “We moved the part time position to full time and it will not increase the budget or taxes for residents.
