Jeremy Kimpton, 36, the new Franklin administrator, has been involved in Franklin City politics for seven years, six on the city council and one year as mayor.

For a salary of $40,000, the city administrator takes care of and oversees all the day-to-day operations of the city, like water and sewer. As city manager Kimpton can be found driving a snowplow early in the morning to testing the city’s water supply on weekends.

Franklin City administrator Jeremy Kimpton checks water on Friday, Dec. 15 to see if it is fit for the residents of the community to drink.

With two subdivisions and the commercial development of the horse complex, Kimpton said having a full-time city manager watching over things is the smart way to go.

The city administrator’s salary came from moving some money around and having a full time employee leave. “We moved the part time position to full time and it will not increase the budget or taxes for residents.
