Tyler Olson, an attorney and recent candidate for the Franklin County prosecutor’s position, opened an office in Preston at 85 N. State recently. The office is in the same location as the real estate offices of Paul Judd and Brad Smith.

The son of Kevin and Linda Olson is a member of the law firm Daines Thomas and Smith LLP. The firm is licensed to practice in both Idaho and Utah.

Olson will handle most areas of law as a general practice attorney and is fluent in Spanish having served an LDS mission to Peru. He earned degrees in business and agribusiness with a minor in Spanish from Utah State University. He also received an international MBA from the Royal Agricultural College in England. Olson was an economist for the United States Bureau of Reclamation before he began practicing law.

The father of five children graduated from University of Idaho with a Juris Doctorate in May 2011 and was admitted to the Idaho Bar that fall. While in law school he clerked for prosecutors in Cache County and in his final year prosecuted students for campus–related drug and alcohol violations.

Olson worked as a research assistant, co–authored several articles for publication and clerked for the Snake River Basin Adjudication Court.

The Preston office will be used by other members of the firm for Idaho clients. For a list of services check out his advertisement in this week’s Preston Citizen.

Office hours will be by appointment at this time. Olson can be reached at 852-1535.
