Last year a group of women wanted to do something nice for the community by helping everyone have a better Christmas.
The ladies decided to put on a free toy swap. They had so much fun they decided to do it again this year.
“We felt like it was a great success and we would like to continue the tradition in our community,”
said Heather Keller, who is this year’s Preston School District PTO.
The PTO this year is more involved and they are using the school as a drop off and pick up points.
The idea is to bring slightly worn toys and leave them for some one looking for toys for Christmas. The toys are free to the public.
“We had really great participation. We had more toys left than people picked up. The toys left over went to Deseret Industries. We would like to see more people pick up toys this year,” Keller said.
The Toy Swap will open Thursday, Nov. 8, from 4-6 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Oakwood Cafeteria.
We are looking for gently used children‚ toys, books, games and puzzles,” Keller said.
Toys can be dropped off at the Oakwood office during school hours or at Preston Cleaners, 29 E. Oneida, during scheduled drop off times.
Please do not donate anything broken or unusable. No clothes, please. Anything left over will be donated to the D.I.
