A couple of major penalties in the second quarter of the Preston-Century football game in Pocatello’s Holt Arena Friday night gave the Diamondbacks some much-needed momentum in its 35-20 victory over the Indians.

Preston looked good at the outset of the game, scoring on its first possession. Running back Tate Johnson punched the ball across the goal line on a two-yard run to give Preston the early lead.

The Indians held the advantage until the second quarter when the Diamondbacks started to get things moving. Century scored at the beginning of the quarter to tie the score. On their next possession, Preston had them seemingly stopped on a third and one and the team celebrated.
