Runway resurfaced

The Preston Airport runway got a new lease on life recently when a slurry seal coat was applied to the asphalt surface and new striping was completed.

The last time any work was done to the runway was at least 10 years ago, maybe longer, according to Craig Biggs, airport manager.

“This work done by Intermountain Slurry Seal will provide a good surface for another five-six years. It was badly needed because the edges of the runway were starting to deteriorate,” said Biggs. “This was really something that needed to be done.”

Aaron Holdaway, center, owner of Lazer Lines out of South Weber, Utah, and two helpers stripe the resurfaced runway and taxiway at the Preston Airport last Monday.
