Cold temperatures and rough terrain were a part of the story at the Ririe Invitational, held at the Ririe Dam near Idaho Falls on Oct. 3.
Preston boys placed a close third behind Rigby, with Bonneville’s team taking first. The Preston girls outpaced Hillcrest to take first place in their race. The pack finish for the Preston girls was compact enough to place four of their top five runners in the top 10 of the race.
Race results for the top five girls are: Caitlin Elgan, second, 20:10; Whitney Groll, sixth, 20:37; Kylee Wakley, seventh, 20:42; Aunika Crowther, 10th, 21:01; and Mackenzie Womack, 12th, 21:06.
The top five boys are: Ryden Crowther, second, 17:19; Cameron Dietrich, 11th, 18:15; Ephriam Sharp, 16th, 18:36; Kendon Harrison, 18th, 18:39; and Jordan Wright, 27th, 19:04.
Preston runners compete this Wednesday, Oct. 10, at their home meet at 4 p.m.
