Gleed spearheads fundraiser

October 5, 2012

A Preston High School senior wants to see her brother and others like him suffering from Juvenile Diabetes, or Type 1 Diabetes, to benefit from a cure, some day.

The Gleed family poses for a photograph with their new puppy Addie. From left to right: Kenzie 5, their mother Lisa, Jordan 17, their father Matt, Garret 13 and six year-old Austin, who was diagnosed with diabetes.

Jordan Gleed did her part toward that end, recently, by sponsoring a fundraiser where $2,300 was raised from Franklin County residents of all ages.

“My brother was diagnosed with (juvenile diabetes) at the age of five,” she said of her brother Austin, who is now six and a half. Jordan is the oldest of four children to Matt and Lisa Gleed.
