The Preston Indians took on local competition at the annual Cache-Box race on Sept. 26. Matching up runners from Box Elder County and the length of Cache Valley, this event was held at the new USU cross country race venue.
The Cache-Box varsity girls’ race was won by Mountain Crest’s squad, but Preston’s team finished with one of their tightest pack performances of the season. This effort was enough to clinch second place out of seven teams.
Caitlin Elgan came in 10th place, breaking 20 minutes with a time of 19:51. Kylee Wakley (14th place), Whitney Groll (16th), Aunika Crowther (18th), and Makenzie Womack (20th) rounded out the scoring.
