Preston Golf and Country Club will be hosting a Fall One-Man (person) Scramble on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Entry fee is $65 for non-members including cart and $45 for members. Flights will be determined by entries with players receiving 80 percent of their handicap.
Players will go out in tee times starting at 9 a.m. until noon. To register contact the pro shop at 852-2408 or toll free at 877-852-2408.
The club hosted its third annual “Bye Bye Birdie” Couples Scramble recently. In the Champ Flight the team of Mike Cunningham and Kristal Call took first with a score of 66.
Second gross was Mike Cunningham Jr. and Donna Cunningham with a 67. Low net was Jeff and Barbara Taylor with a net 61.3 and second net was Richard Winterbottom and Corinne Bailey with a 61.7.
In the First Flight low gross was Mike and Karolee Read with a 70. Second gross went to Jerry and JoCarol Losee with a 73. Low net went to Derek and Jamie Lyle with a 57.7 and second was Galen and Heather Alvey with a 69.1.
The Thursday League played a low gross/low net tournament on the front nine last week. Low Gross went to Bart Simmons with a 36. Second gross was a tie between Michael Cunningham and Michael Abbott with matching 37’s.
In the Net Division the winner was Richard Winterbottom with a 30 net. Second net was a tie between Jeff Taylor and Dave Atkinson with matching 32’s.
Richard Nelson recorded a hole-in-one at the course last week on number six from the blue tees. He used a seven iron to cover the 171 yards to the hole. It was witnessed by Greg Williamson.
Congratulations to Karolee Read. She had a hole-in-one on number 17 playing from the red tees.
