The Preston Rotary Christmas Choir will present its 80th annual concert this December, and officials are reminding area residents that practices will start on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Preston Eighth Ward Chapel, 213 S. 200 E.
Co-director Carl Hoffman said this year is the 80th anniversary of continual concerts by the choir. The very first conductor of the choir was Harold Christensen, he said.
This year Karla Gunderson will be a co-director. She takes the place of Anna Beth Olson who is serving an LDS mission with her husband.
Hoffman and Gunderson invite anyone interested in singing with the choir to attend the first practice. For more information, Hoffman can be contacted at 852-2570 and Gunderson at 852-1571. Both Hoffman and Gunderson promise music selections will stretch and entertain singers and inspire the audience.
This year’s annual concert will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9, in the chapel, 213 S. 200 E.
