Preston boys had a tough week with a 2-0 loss to Century at home on Thursday and a 2-2 tie with Burley, also at home on Saturday.

The score against Burley was not indicative of the play of the game. Preston outshot the Bobcats 17-5 and controlled the ball well.

Preston’s Zac Roper, 9, controls a pass and moves the ball downfield against Century. Eli Ramirez, 10, moves in to help. Preston lost the game and is in action away this week.

“Burley’s two real good opportunities, they capitalized on,” Coach Robert Bowles said. “We just need to eliminate little mistakes that allow goals…. but I felt like we played well. We possessed the ball well and we were very aggressive. And in the end we got into their heads.”

Burley scored first 20 minutes into the match, but Preston evened it up just one minute later when a shot by Jorge Sanchez rebounded off the crossbar and Vetle Foss gathered up the loose ball to send it in. As the game progressed the Bobcats accumulated eight yellow cards and Preston four.
