A 2-0 shutout against the Rigby Trojans on Thursday, Sept. 6, in Rigby finished out a successful week at 2-0 in district play for Preston.
Jorge Sanchez scored both Preston goals. He volleyed in a Zac Roper cross in the fifth minute and then one-timed in a Vetly Foss pass 15 minutes into the second half. Foss is a foreign exchange student from Norway.
Though the Indians controlled the ball, especially in the first 20 minutes of each half, Rigby was able to generate some dangerous offensive opportunities. Two great saves by Preston keeper Dalton Lloyd kept the Indians on top.
“We’d like to convert more of our shots,” said Coach Robert Bowles. “But we’re happy with a 2-0 win.”
