The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) will conduct its annual unusable pesticide collection in Preston on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the weed control office, 561 W. Oneida.

This service is for all agricultural producers, dealers, professional applicators and homeowners who are storing unusable pesticides. This is a safe, legal and free opportunity to dispose of pesticides including: herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides or anything with a “cide” at the end of its name.

Participation is free for the first 1,000 pounds of unusable chemical per participant. (No fertilizer, micronutrients, paint, solvents or motor oil will be accepted.)

Participants must register the total number of pounds of pesticides that they are disposing by calling their local ISDA field office, or by calling the Boise office.

Assistance and other information about the collections are available at: www.agri.idaho.gov
