District health officials are recommending both children and adults this fall get vaccinated against whooping cough.
Not only does vaccination protect adults against the highly contagious disease, it reduces the odds they will pass on an illness that can be life-threatening to those most at risk: infants, who haven’t finished their full vaccination series, said Jackie Bowles, a nurse who works at the Preston office of Southeast Idaho Public Health.
