After hearing Franklin County Medical Center’s current SpaceLabs cardiac monitoring system is in “urgent need of replacement,” last week, the board of trustees approved a partial replacement and upgrade
Some $68,045 was approved to make improvements to the current 15-year-old system following a presentation by nursing staff member LuAnn Nielsen, RN, CNO.
In addition, the price includes the cost of an interface to enable the cardiac monitoring system to automatically record data into a patient’s electronic health record, Hospital CEO Mike Andrus said. Replacement of the maternal monitoring portion will be considered later, he said.
