DAYTON – Construction on the Beutler Middle School is nearly complete and will be finished prior to Franklin County High School students starting school on Aug. 27.
West Side School District Superintendent Barbara Taylor said Franklin County High School students will be attending school at the newly finished middle school this fall while remodeling at the Preston National Guard Armory continues.
The county high school students normally attend school at the Armory building, but remodeling work started there mid-summer and won’t be complete until the end of December.
“This past spring the district agreed to complete up to eight classrooms in the new Beutler Middle School to accommodate these high school students. They will use four classrooms until the end of December,” she said.
“Just as soon as the Armory remodeling is complete, these students will once again attend school at that location. We plan to move our middle school students from the Harold B. Lee Elementary, where they have always attended class, to the new middle school facility this coming January.”
