This year’s Franklin County Fair kicked off with the Motocross event held on Saturday and officials said a good crowd enjoyed the excitement.
The fair, on-going this week, will be packed with a variety of events, from entertainment to the bull bonanza.
“Things have come together,” Fair Committee Chair Wes Harris said. “We expect a good week with lots of things that should appeal to everyone.
“We’re going to have lots of animals… probably more animals than we’ve had the past couple of years. I’m excited about how things have shaped up. We have lots of excellent entertainment, vendors and food booths and I hope the public supports us,” he said.
Laura Roberts, in charge of entertainment, said Al Lampkin, a “magical” comedian from the Salt Lake area, will be at the Fair on Thursday, Aug. 16, for two performances at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Fish races will be held and the Worm Creek Theater group will be performing in the Robinson Building at 4 p.m., she said.
