As the West Side School District prepares for fall classes beginning Aug. 22, there have been some administrative changes made since the retirement of Superintendent Melvin Beutler.
Barbara Taylor was asked to take Beutler’s position as superintendent and high school principal Spencer Barzee was named assistant superintendent. Barzee will still function as the high school principal with the assistance of former high school business teacher Tyler Telford, who will also be acting as the Athletic Director and serve as the principal of the Beutler Middle School.
Melinda Royer was a second grade teacher. She will be the acting principal of the Harold B. Lee Elementary School for this year.
There are some new faces among the faculty in the district this year. They include; Carli Firth, a middle school math teacher; Dona Reeder, a second grade teacher; Vance Reeder, a high school business teacher and Catherine Winward will teach fourth grade.
