Kandie Avery, the Franklin County coordinator for South Eastern Idaho Community Action Agency (SEICAA), is getting ready for the upcoming Annual Golfing Fore the Green, charity golf tournament and fundraiser.

The 18-hole scramble with a shot gun start is sponsored by SEICAA and Lundahl Ironworks Company. It will be held at the Preston Golf and Country Club on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 8:30 a. m.

The push right now is to find sponsors for prizes and other give-away items for the competition. There are some still available, Avery said.

“Sponsorships for this event provides an excellent opportunity for a company to receive exposure and demonstrate their willingness to aid SEICAA and other community organizations in helping low-income families become more self sufficient,” she said.

Jean Gould, (l) a Golfing Fore the Green committee member and Kandie Avery, director, stand next to some of the donated prizes for the upcoming tournament, which is a major fundraiser for the organization.

New York Deli has agreed to cater lunch and Hunzeker Ford has agreed to give away a new Mustang for a hole-in-one on a designated par three hole.

There are number of seniors, disabled individuals, families and other economically disadvantaged people in our county depend on the assistance SEICAA can offer.

“The problem is the population is growing and it is depleting the allocated budget faster than ever before,” Avery said.

The tournament continues to grow and is one of the major fundraisers for the organization, she added.

Sponsorship and registration forms are available. Please bring the completed forms and dues to the SEICAA office at 16 S. 100 W. or the Preston Golf and Country Club at 1215 N. 800 E., no later than Aug. 22, 2012.

For additional information contact Kandie Avery at 208 852-1515 karvey@ seicaa.org or John Van Vleet (Preston Golf-Pro) at 208-852-2408.
