After months of considering the much publicized county ordinance pertaining to wood burning stoves and the burning of other hazardous materials, the Clifton City Council approved the same ordinance that had been approved recently by Preston City.
According to the document, this will protect air quality resources vital to the safety and well being of their residents, while giving the city authority to prohibit the burning of harmful substances. While each resident will be included in the ordinance, there are provisions for those who would have a problem complying with the new wood burning law, such as a wood stove being their only source of heat, or if it would be a financial hardship to purchase alternative heating sources.
