The Preston Citizen reminds readers it has three video reports of Spc. Cody O. Moosman’s return with honor on its website at www.prestoncitizen. com
Moosman, a Preston native and resident, was killed in action in Afghanistan on July 3 by small arms fire. Moosman joined the Army in October, 2010 and completed basic training, airborne schooling and advanced individual training at Ft. Benning, Ga.
He was deployed to Afghanistan this May with the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
The first video shows the return of Moosman to the Logan- Cache Airport on Wednesday, July 11, in a military Honorable Transfer ceremony.
The second video shows hundreds and hundreds of people lining U.S. 91 all the way from Smithfield, Utah, through Franklin City and another five miles to Webb Funeral Home in Preston as a motorcade bearing Moosman’s body passed by.
The third video shows hundreds of people outside the Preston North LDS Stake Center on Friday, July 13, waiting for Moosman’s funeral to conclude. Residents were there to honor and pay respect to Moosman’s family and to Preston’s hometown hero, who paid the ultimate sacrifice defending freedom and our way of life.
We encourage everyone to view the videos. Or stop by The Citizen office to view them.
