The Franklin County Theatre Board is sponsoring “A Pioneer Tribute” on Sunday, July 22, at 7 p.m. at the Worm Creek Theatre.
The program will honor our Pioneer heritage through stories, songs, music, dance and art.
The format of the program is meant to encourage reverence and appreciation for the sacrifices of the early “Saints” that settled this area and gave up so much to follow their prophet and find the place of settlement the Lord had prepared for them in the West.
Several members of our community will be involved in relating stories from pioneer journals and presenting musical numbers that reflect on the faithful lives of these great Saints.
Some of the performers will include singers such as Rivkah Steele, who is currently performing at the Yellowstone Playmill, and Hannah Edwards, local singer/ songwriter and member of the Jenny Phillips choir.
Others will include a local brass band ensemble directed by Jody and Laural Janke; Sagebrush Strings, directed by Anna Gray; the Boys from Mink Creek (a fiddle group); pianist Collin Swainston; and many others.
The program will also feature local dancers and several musical families who will share stories and scenes and music from Pioneer life.
This event is offered free of charge to the public.
