By TRISH CHECKETTS
On July 23 Franklin County Healthcare Foundation held its annual “Hit From the Heart” Golf Benefit. The weather was beautiful along with the golf course.
The golfers were encouraged to “cheat” with purchased string and mulligans. The string helps keep scores under par.
This year there was a three-way tie for first place so a drawing was held.
Third place went to Lewiston State Bank’s team with a score of 44. Second place went to Bingham’s Bombers with a score of 44 and first place went to Anderson’s Aces with a score of 44.
The Foundation used the proceeds from the tournament, including all receipts for string and mulligans, to put back into Franklin County organizations that support healthcare and healthy activities in Franklin County.
Some of the recently funded activities were a chair scale for nurses’ use in the hospital and nursing home, wheelchairs for the nursing home, a centrifuge for FCMC laboratory, playground equipment for West Side District, Preston School District and Thatcher Elementary.
Donations from many sources help provide the means to support these activities.
The Foundation is grateful for the support the golf tournament participants and sponsors give to help these activities happen.
