No fireworks allowed on Forest Service property

By ROBERT S. MERRILL

Assistant editor

Potable water will be available at Willow Flat and Albert Moser campgrounds for the Fourth of July holiday, said Forest Service officials.

Potable water will also be usable for Emigration Canyon and the RC&D campgrounds, now under supervision of the Forest Service.

Grasses and shrubs are still green in the mountains. But absolutely no fireworks of any kind are allowed in the forest or on any federal ground, said Maury Young, recreation technician from the Montpelier Ranger District office. Officers will be patrolling for violations.

There are no restrictions yet on building fires or cutting firewood. But things could change in a hurry with drying and warm temperatures. The watchword is always to be very, very cautious, Young said.
