DAYTON – Dayton City invites everyone to come and celebrate July 4-West Side style.
This annual gathering is a great way to spend the day with family and friends, according to organizers. Festivities begin at 6:45 a.m. with a flag raising at the Dayton City Pavilion, according to Aaron Beutler.
“Then come join our Fun Run at 7 a.m. (registration begins at 6:45). Everyone can participate, with both a one-mile and a 5K route planned,” said Beutler. “We’ve had great community support with donations. Prizes and ribbons awarded to all participants.”
A pancake breakfast will be served during and after the race, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. A patriotic program will be held at the Dahle Performing Arts auditorium at 10:30 a.m., featuring local talent. A parade grand marshal will be honored. A Dutch oven dinner at the pavilion will be served from noon to 2 p.m., with a brief interruption during the parade at 1 p.m., said Beutler. The parade lineup begins at 12:30 p.m.
