Council gives patriotic speech contest rules

June 21, 2012

Franklin County Theater Arts Council

The first annual Patriotic Speech Contest will be held on Saturday, July 7, at noon in the Worm Creek Opera House.

It is open to all residents of Franklin County.

The theme of the contest is, “What’s Right with America.”

These words must be somewhere in the speech.  This was a popular theme from a radio call-in program some 20 or 30 years ago.

The Opera House will be providing a microphone, a podium and a backdrop behind the speaker. Contestants should come in best dress. Speeches must not exceed two minutes, but can be less than two minutes.
