A grant has been awarded to the Montpelier Ranger District of the Caribou National Forest Service for upgrades at Franklin County camping facilities.
Heavy road work has started at the Bear River RC&D campground in Emigration Canyon, according to Maury Young with the Montpelier District.
He said his office received a $34,200 grant from the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation’s recreational vehicle fund to improve roads and picnic sites within the campground.
The Forest Service has taken management control of this facility this year. It is located within a couple of miles of the Emigration Canyon Campground, just off Highway 36.
