“I’m ecstatic that now we can start to do some more planning,” said Franklin County Library Board Chairman Leo Silvernagel, following results of Tuesday’s vote.

About three-fourths of Franklin County voters who went to the polls approved implementation of a permanent override tax levy. The issue has had to come before voters every two years, giving less stability for the library board and staff in staffing levels, overall planning, Silvernagel said.

Librarian Bonnie Nielson checks in Joe Perry’s books Monday afternoon. The Larsen-Sant Library continues to grow in use, from the community room to computer terminals to the many resources provided for it’s patrons. Over 70 percent of Franklin County voters, who went to the polls, approved implementation of a permanent override tax levy.
