DAYTON – The first-annual high school piano competition, sponsored by Larry Dahle, will take place this Saturday, May 12, at 7 p.m. in the Dahle Performing Arts Center on the high school complex in Dayton.
Some 11 high schools will be represented and each will send one piano soloist to perform. Schools from Preston, West Side, Snake River, Sky View, Grace, Murray, Logan, Marsh Valley, Malad, Mountain Crest and Bear Lake will participate.
Laken Hemsley, from Preston, will play “Toccata” by Aram Khachaturian. Kennedy Bingham, West Side, will play “The Cat and The Mouse” by Aaron Copland.
