Story by RODNEY D. BOAM
Although the recently released First Counselor in the Presiding Bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bishop Richard C. Edgley has not lived in Preston for many years, he said he still claims it as home. In a telephone interview from his home recently, he said he still has great memories of the city, the people, and the sports at Preston High School. He even talked about some of his teachers and classes in the Oneida Stake Academy.
“I’ve been gone for 60 years, but still try and make it back every Memorial Day to decorate graves. I would also come when I had an assignment to speak at stake conference,” Edgley said.
