PHS musicians compete for the Bennett Cup

Preston High School musicians put on their best efforts for the annual Bennett Cup held last Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the high school auditorium.
There were 15 entries in the piano competition held Thursday evening. This year’s winner was Kaytlynn Garbett, second place was Abbey Olsen and third place was Katie Gregory. There were five entries in the instrumental. Winner of the competition was Tanille Durfee, second Katie Swainston and Bethany Jensen took third.
Wednesday evening the vocal competition was held. First place in the male vocal category was Andrew Robinson. Taking second place was Cory Swainston and third place was Joseph Seamons.
The female vocal winners: first place was Sariah Seare, second place Ami Higley and third place was Rickie Priestley. Also Wednesday evening was the strings competition. First place went to Katie Swainston, second place was awarded to Cody Petterborg and third place was Alex White.
