The second meeting of the Cache Valley Airshed Group went very well, and was well attended, according to Melissa Gibbs, airshed coordinator with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
“We had an open discussion on ideas for possible control measures to implement on the Idaho side (Franklin County) of the Cache Valley PM2.5 Nonattainment Area, “ she said.
“So far the group has worked to gain an understanding of air quality issues within Cache Valley, the challenges associated with State Implementation Plans (SIP), and the unique issues that face multi-state nonattainment areas.”
She told The Preston Citizen the group will be working over the next few months to identify controls measures that will be adopted as part of the SIP.
