The Preston Indians baseball team lost both its district games last week to Pocatello and Century.

“On Tuesday we were at Pocatello. Things started off a little rocky for us and we allowed four runs in the first inning,” said Coach Brandon Ormond. “It was tough for us to get going. Brayden Jorgensen threw well, but we didn’t back him up. Pocatello is good, but we didn’t give them our best effort. We ended up losing 10-0 in five innings.

Kadyn Hassett, a Preston senior who plays right field, slides home against Marsh Valley in a game last Friday. The Indians won the game 13-3.

“It was a tough loss for us. We are so much better than we showed. We had too many errors in the field and didn’t swing it like we usually do. We have to perform better.”

Century came to Preston on April 11 and things didn’t improve much from the Poky contest. Colton Draney took the mound.
