Laken Hemsley, this year’s Distinguished Young Woman of Franklin County, will relinquish her crown as part of this year’s competition to be held April 14 at the Dahle Fine Arts building in Dayton at 7 p.m.
The daughter of Lance and Laurie Hemsley said she has enjoyed the different challenges and aspects that came along with having the crown.
“Being the county DYW has been a positive experience and I have enjoyed every bit of it. I’ve learned about how important service is and how generous the community is,” she said.
