WS team continues to improve

DAYTON – West Side had their first home track meet this year. It took place on Wednesday. It was a nice meet at the beginning, but only a  few minutes after it started the wind picked up and the air turned cold.

This slightly hindered some of the runners’ times, but everyone did well. Since it is still the beginning of the season, this meet was not scored.

There were three other teams that came to the Pirates’ home meet and they were: Aberdeen, Preston’s JV team, and Bear Lake. It was a small meet so that kept things moving right along.

Everyone is constantly becoming better and all the coaches are proud of their athletes. Coach Hansen commented on Paul Stegelmeier’s outstanding shot put throw and said, “Paul just summoned his inner beast and pulled out that monster throw. It’s pretty amazing to think that he started as a freshman throwing about 25 feet and is now going over 40.
