Tyler White, from West Side, goes for a tag-out at third base in a game against Box Elder on Wednesday. The team played well, but dropped both games against the Bees. White plays for the Indians.

The Indians lost to visiting Box Elder in both games of a double header on Wednesday, April 4.

“We lost the first game 15-10 and lost the second game 8-6,” said Coach Brandon Ormond. “It was tough to lose those games because we hit the ball so well. We just let down on defense. Our pitching was strong for the most part, but when you have errors in the field, that really affects a pitcher’s mentality.

“In the first game both teams combined for 30 hits including three-hit efforts by Karingtyn Hobbs and Baker Ward. Ward also had two home runs that put the Indians ahead 10-8. It was tough to give up the lead late in the game. We worked hard to get it back and we have to learn how to play ahead and stay ahead.”
