The Oneida Stake Academy is one of five buildings still intact today that are a monument to the faith of a people who valued education. Even on the trek west, schools were formed in families and companies to ensure children were learning as they traveled. Kenneth Godfrey, a former teacher at the Utah State University Institute of Religion and local historian, said early on church education was highly valued. ”
