The PHS track team finished well in their first track meet at Highland on Thursday, March 15.
“We are excited about both boys and girls teams,” said Coach Brandon Lyon. “They are on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of experience but we have seen good things early on. The boys team returns almost all of the state placers we had a year ago. We are very confident that if we perform to our abilities we will be right there at the state meet challenging for a title. We feel that we have contenders to score points at the state meet in almost every event.
Conversely, we lost about every state placer from the girls team, but we return some very talented athletes who have made big improvements since last year. We have seen some really good things from the girls early on. There have been some good early season surprises and I think our depth will be as strong as it has been in past years. We feel good about the chances of both teams to repeat as district champions and then make some noise at state.”

Thank you TERESA CHIPMAN, PHS and Preston Citizen for covering the meet. I found nothing in any of the local papers as of yet. Good job. Keep it up.
